Did u know that every year hundreds of places suffer from drought and the water resources are being more and more scarce day by day? It is believed that only deserts have drought but that’s not the true case. Even a rich state like California has big problem of drought. Deserts actually make up 33%, or 1/3rd of the land’s surface area and which only have few places of water resources which are also made only by the little amount of rainfall it receives.
Of course in richer state like California the government divides up the money for the problems but what about the countries which faces the actual problem of drought all year around? In Ethiopia an estimated of 8 million of Ethiopia's 60 million people are at immediate risk due to drought. UNICEF estimates that 1.4 million of those at risk are children. Now there are a lot of techniques through which these countries can somewhat solve the problem of water scarcity but rainwater harvesting is the best way to go as it is a natural source and different methods of harvesting them can be easily taught to people.
